Arrived at RQYS, Manly Qld. Thank you very much to Phil and Dinah for a great trip. Thank you also to Bill and Julie keeping a shore watch for our journey.

1200 Hrs

27 00 S, 143 20 E, Just inside the NE channel of Morton Bay. Almost there probably another 5 hours I expect so ETA around 1700 Hrs. Fortunately the Southerly that came through overnight did not put the seas too high so concerns of a very late arrival have been allayed. Hello Brisbane!

Wednesday, 26 August 2026, 1500 Hrs

24 47 S, 153 20 E, 10 Nm N of Waddy Point, Fraser Island. Sorry for the late update as we sailed slowly for a while whilst doing engine checks and allowing Dinah to have a silent business meeting without the engine. A light easterly currently and motoring again. A very bumpy morning as we rounded the Breaksea spit with NE seas, a SE swell and outgoing tide from Hervey Bay. Anyway most items from the cupboards and fridge returned to their home and all ship shape. Expecting a Southerly to build in around 10 hours which will slow progress somewhat for tomorrows lateish arrival. All is well.

Tuesday, 25 August 2026, 1230 Hrs

23 18 S, 151 04 E, 10 Nm SE of Great Keppel Island. Heading for the top of Fraser Island but keeping an eye on the forecast in case a predicted Southerly early Thursday moves through early.

1000 Hrs

Underway with the fuel fully topped up. Light winds less that 5 Kts from the SE. The fisherman’s fuel dock now requires an app downloaded which means we probably didn’t need to wait until the fish coop opened this morning. Lots of Hamilton island returning boats were qued up to take fuel. Unfortunately the other fuel dock (cheaper) was busy filling its ferries up at the time.

Monday, 24 August 2026, 1950 Hrs

Anchored of the eastern bay of Great Keppel Island.

1200 Hrs

22 27 S, 150 59 E, We are currently 13 Nm East of Port Clinton and heading for an anchorage near Great Keppel Island this evening. With light variable winds forecast for the next few days we are planning to top up fuel at Roslyn Bay early tomorrow to alleviate range anxiety. All is going well with the crew settled into 24 hr watch system whilst inching closer to Brisbane. Update after anchoring and underway again tomorrow.

Sunday, 23 August 2026, 1300 Hrs

20 54 S, 149 35 E, Just 2 Nm South of Scawfell Island. Currently motoring into 10-15 Kt SE winds as forecast for the rest of today. It should be lightening off through the early morning and hopefully goes further East. Expecting to motor through the night and probably plan to top up fuel further down the coast. All is well.
